My best tip on the beach is if you find a coin hole = ( multiple coins). keep digging around because someone was there and most times I find a ring close to that area. I hate the vodka caps, They sound good. LOL I pick up stuff people leave behind to. I was in OC MD and could not find a cut this year. Put the XP Deus 2 did not let me down 9 rings.

I've had an Eagle Spectrum since they first came out and I NEVER dig junk with it, even on a wide open disciminate. The trick is set your display "DECAY" to above half of max, then when you hit a target, pinpoint it to get the EXACT spot, now return to DISC mode and sweep rapidly without the sides of the coil coming over the target, whilst moving 360 degrees aroud the target, now look at the SIGNAGRAPH. More positive bars than negative? DIG. More negative bars than positive, walk on. For a second confirmation, flick the switch forwards into all metal, and lift the search head until the signal is faint, now without dropping the head down, sweep over it a few times in all discriminate. "Wide" signals are junk, narrow ones are 90%+ probably a good target.

Tip from some Texas beach Heat metal Detectorists, Set your phone alarm multiple times to remind you to stay hydrated and drink water. Some times you get tunnel vision and time can get away from you and then you’re dehydrated.

Equinox manticore deus 2 or legend cannot handle some soils and some beaches like oldchool excals and ctx and the sovereign gt. wonder why people still buy them because they are more stable less depth but you can detect harsher spots. Many times have i taken my new multi freq detector to beach to just have a nightmare .. we are talking vlf not pi of course.

Beings I'm from Nebraska, we have tiny beaches that take 30 minutes to detect. Now with that said you most great finds are old churches that don't exist anymore and are now corn fields. So search the corn and soybean beaches in April and October! Love the channel!

Hey Merrill, here’s my top tip for metal detecting on the beach, especially when you’re short on time or the area is crowded: Zig-Zag Your Way to Treasure! I recently posted a video on this technique. It’s perfect for quick hunts or when there are too many people around to grid search effectively. Here’s how it worked for me at Oceanside last week: Zig-Zag Pattern: Instead of a straight grid, I zig-zagged across the beach for about 700 feet. This method covers more ground quickly and helps find hot spots. Coin Line Discovery: I noticed a line of coins forming along the beach. You can literally draw a line in the sand where items are likely to be found. Drag Your Digger: At low tide, I dragged my digger to make a visible line in the sand. This helped mark my path and showed where to search more thoroughly. Semi-Grid Search: I followed up with a semi-grid search, swinging one or two times horizontally along the line. What tone and number does gold usually come up as? I have an Xterra pro and Im used to high tones being good but some are saying lower tones are more likely gold on the Xterra? Anyone know if that's true.. Thanks

The best tip I could give is to try to get out there as soon as possible after a major event has happened in that particular area on the beach or park.

My Beach Metal Detecting Tip: "If it beeps, dig it!" - Sure, we can be cocky and think it is a bottle cap, pull tab, or even super low tone like iron, but the reality is that the awesome items can fool us with just the tones - it depends on shape, orientation, length of chains, etc. A rolled up gold chain can sound like a tin can, or even super low tone like a tent stake. A ring sitting sideways can show up very low, and faint, even sound choppy, like a bottle cap. Yeah, I know, I leave the beach with more garbage than some of my other detecting buddies, but at least I'm doing my part and cleaning it up. Plus, if I return to that beach often, there will be less junk to find. Just dig it, you dig? .

The NY Beaches were looking good when I was there - kind of miss it, but I'll be back a few times this summer. I'm back in Florida now (HOT!). I've been hitting the water with the Deus ii, but still stormy and kind of rough seas on the ocean side - the GOOD part is that the rough surf knocks items off people. but still hard to detect in it. I am finding lots of drops in the sand!! Stay safe and keep hunting.

My beach metal detecting tip is to keep your metal detector in good shape! I bought a Whites Metal Detector about 15 years ago and about 10 years later it stopped working and fell apart from disrepair and now I can't even tell you which storage locker full of crap it is in? Regrettably my son and I no longer metal detect, and now he is at City College and has no time. His professors work his ass off. That's how bad it is. E-waste has bee unlocked! Lol with tears! They grow up really quick ~ I want to call you Hussain but I know that's not actually your name! Merrill! There ya go! Who is this social justice warrior Hussain anyway? Social justice has been lost in the sand along with the gold? We all need to keep looking some how for an answer!

I’m a very successful Treasure Hunter in Texas and have returned several class rings, wedding rings and other items to my credit. That’s my favorite part of our great hobby. My Tip would be just get out and metal detect and do some recons and see where the crowds gather on the beach and in the water. Go to the beach 2 hours before low tide and swing low and slow. Listen to the deep targets and dig them. Learn what your machine is telling you and go by sounds more then VDI numbers. Looks for low spots on the beach. Also find the target patch on the beach and search it completely. Follow coins lines too.
